Wine 2018

2018 AEREA ‘Pure’ Gamay

What began as a garage project in 2016 with a lone barrel of Gamay is now a 5-ton, 325-case affair in 2019. Aerea Vintners is well on its way to becoming a full-fledged winery, and we could not have done it without your support. Not much has changed in our approach since 2016—a little whole cluster fermentation here, a little dry ice in the vat there, pump overs in lieu of punchdowns: just simple, hands-off winemaking starting from the premise (and promise) of great fruit.

I’m excited to offer you the latest rendition of our “Pure” Gamay, which is somewhere in style between the substantial, broad 2016 wine and the more elegant 2017.

2018 harvest was warm and  sunny so the resulting Gamay brims with generous, crackling red cranberry fruit, and a subtle savory quality that will serve it well at your table. Say the word if I can send you a case.

We hope you enjoy sharing this wine with friends as much as we do.
